Jecs is an entity-component-system library for Luau built around low per-iteration overhead and straightforward component access. It suits games that want ECS structure without adopting a large framework, particularly where a simulation loop already exists and only the data layout needs reorganising. Relationships between entities are first-class, so hierarchies like parent and child, or who has equipped what, do not need hand-written link tables. The package ships with benchmarks and a test suite, so the performance claims can be checked against your own workload rather than taken on faith. Query results are cached per archetype, which is what keeps iteration cheap as the entity count grows.
