A modern take on the problem ProfileService solves, with a cleaner API and migrations as a first class feature. You declare a schema and a list of migration functions, and Lapis brings old saves forward as you change your data shape.
Session locking, retries and graceful shutdown handling are all built in, and it is written to be testable.
Worth comparing against ProfileService before you commit. Both are solid; this one is newer and the migration story is better.
