Luau Polyfill provides implementations of the Lua 5.1 and 5.3 standard library functions, plus parts of the JavaScript runtime, that Roblox does not ship. Code ported from normal Lua or from npm often assumes that functions like string.pack, table.move, os.date patterns or a Buffer implementation exist, and this package supplies them so the rest of the code runs unchanged. It is usually a dependency of another library rather than something a game requires directly. It is part of the jsdotlua toolchain and is published as a Wally package.
