Matter is an entity-component-system library for Roblox that keeps gameplay state in components and processes it through systems. Developers use it when a game is built from many small interacting behaviours and a plain object hierarchy starts producing tangled update loops. Systems declare which components they read and write, so the loop only visits entities that actually have them, and a system is skipped entirely when no entity matches. It runs on the client and on the server, and is usually paired with a networking layer to replicate component state. The repository includes a test suite and example systems that show the intended structure before you restructure your own game.
