Roblox code is full of things that finish later: a datastore read, a HTTP call, a tween, a player loading in. Without a structure for that you end up with nested callbacks and errors that vanish. Promise gives you a single object representing work that will finish or fail, with andThen, catch, finally and cancellation.
It is the most widely used async primitive in the Roblox ecosystem, and a lot of other libraries expect you to already have it.
One ModuleScript, no dependencies.
